Northfields play area in Strensall was a popular park for local children. Over the years the timber equipment became worn and lost its appeal. It became apparent that a revamp of the park was required.
It was decided that the new equipment should be primarily made steel. Where suitable colours toned down and the themes with a more natural feel were included. Feedback from the locals indicated they would liked interactive and inclusive items. Park Leisure’s experience with Inclusive Play enables us to assess the best way to create a play area that is accessible yet challenging for children of the younger age bracket.
The park was opened at the end of July and greatly received by the local children and parents.
A case study with more details and photos will be coming soon.Tags: park, play area, playground
