Lady Hill Park, Bradford
With fitness being the main goal for this project we decided a bit of everything would work well. The key feature of this park was a bespoke parkour unit. Built on site, it was a made to measure concrete construction with steel elements.
We installed one of our noise isolated, heavy duty kickwalls with coloured surfacing and line markings for multiple sports. Alongside the kickwall is an outdoor gym which is zoned into different workout groups so users can plan for different sessions throughout the week.
We developed a range of parkour units along specialists, Inner City Monkeys. With their expertise we were able to produce equipment that challenges users and allows them to practice a wide variety of moves. Free-runners the Inner City Monkeys David and Sam went along to celebrate the launch and represent Park Leisure. They put on live demonstrations to show the community how their exciting new facilities can be used.
A variety of sport and fitness equipment
The project was aimed at getting youngsters to play outdoors and increase their fitness levels. The Friends of Ladyhill Park, which has worked closely with Bradford Council’s parks team, was given a £15,000 grant towards the fitness area by the Veolia Environmental Trust. The grant was made through the Landfill Communities Fund and additional funds of £69,462 have come from Bradford Council using money secured through recently completed local developments.
