Our Solution

Our team of play designers then worked on creating a design based around a central bespoke wheelchair accessible unit which allowed wheelchair users to access all parts of the equipment and to experience being 2m off the ground. This play item is one of a kind and has not been replicated anywhere else in the UK. As with all our equipment this bespoke unit was manufactured here in the UK in our factory in Kent and has the same excellent guarantees including 40 years on structural steel as all our equipment does.

Project Background

For this project we were tasked with providing a completely bespoke inclusive play area to the direct specifications of a number of local special needs charities. We were provided with sketch designs and ideas for the groups and children themselves and asked to provide a design in keeping with the needs of children with a wide range of abilities.

Customer Feedback

“The government’s ‘Aiming High for Disabled Children’ funded this large all inclusive scheme at King George V Playing Fields. After I had done all the research and consultancy locally about what was ‘inclusive’ I produced a basic sketch which included a bespoke central unit, different from anything else out there. Working together and with knowledgeable and professional advice from Park Leisure a final workable design was agreed which met all the aspects of inclusivity. At every stage, through to completion, the whole project ran smoothly and we found it really easy to work with Park Leisure. The play space is now used regularly by children of all abilities and remains a very attractive and popular destination for families.”
